With those enduring words and a lifetime of insight, Abigail Adams forever etched her place in the history of our nation. A visionary thinker, trusted advisor, and unwavering advocate for women, she helped shape the moral and intellectual foundation of the American Republic.
The Abigail Adams Society honors her legacy by bringing together individuals who believe that stories like hers must be elevated, preserved, and boldly celebrated. Founded by the Adams Memorial Foundation, this giving circle recognizes and unites leaders, patriots, and philanthropists committed to lifting the voices of women in America’s past, present, and future.
Our Vision
The Abigail Adams Society is more than a giving circle—it is a movement rooted in remembrance, civic purpose, and national legacy. Inspired by Abigail Adams’s enduring belief in the power of “learned women,” the Society envisions a future where the contributions of women are central to the American story—honored in stone, in history, and in the national consciousness.
We are building a national coalition of 250 Founding Members who share this vision—individuals who recognize that the legacy of women like Abigail Adams must be preserved and boldly celebrated for generations to come.
These Founding Members will be recognized as the first stewards of this movement, their early support helping to launch the Abigail Adams Society and advance the creation of the Adams Memorial in Washington, D.C.
This historic founding effort will formally close on July 4, 2026—America’s 250th birthday—forever linking their commitment to this defining national milestone. When the memorial is completed, the Abigail Adams Society will be thoughtfully honored as part of the memorial experience, with each donor’s contribution recognized in a meaningful and lasting way.
While the specific donor recognition plan will be worked out in collaboration with the National Park Service once the site and preliminary design of the memorial have been determined, each donor’s contribution will be honored in a meaningful way.
